Replacing Acer Laptop Keyboards - Notes for Guidance

Replacing an Acer Keyboard - General Notes :

IMPORTANT NOTE : Always disconnect your machine from the mains & remove the battery before thinking about removing the keyboard.

If you haven't yet purchased your new acer keyboard please visit The Laptop Spares Shop to view a full range of genuine Acer Keyboards.

One good thing about Acer laptops is that they are easy to work on (mostly!!) Replacing the keyboard on an Acer machine is not a massive job.
Nearly all Acer keyboards are held in place by clips directly above the keyboard. These can be pushed gently into the casing to with a small flat screwdriver, allowing you to life the keyboard up with another small flat screwdriver. Some keyboards are spot glued to the system tray, so may need some gentle persuasion !

*** Take extreme care here - damage to the ribbon anchor clip above could mean having to replace the motherboard !!! ****

Once you've lifted your keyboard up from the top you can follow the notes above to remove the ribbon and replace with your new keyboard.

We hope all goes well, and if you have any comments or feedback on these notes, please let us know.
